MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
Lake Manyara National Park is located in northern Tanzania where it covers an area of 330 km2 which is equal to 127miles. When water volume is high, an area of 200 km2 (77 miles2) is covered by water. The entrance gate lies 1.5 hours west of Arusha along a newly surface road, close to the ethnically diverse market town of Mto wa Mbu. The park can be visited en route to Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater.
Lake Manyara national park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, but they are far from the only highlight since elephant, hippopotamus, wildebeest, buffalo and giraffe can also be viewed. Pink-hued flamingos, one of 400 bird species recorded here, provide a splash of color.
The best time to visit Lake Manyara National Park to view large animals is during the dry season, which is July–October. for large animals. The wet season, which is November–June, is best for bird watching, seeing the waterfalls and special activities such as canoeing.
