TRAVEL INFORMATION

MEDICAL AND TRAVELL DOCUMENTS

You are responsible for all requirements concerning medical vaccinations and certificates, precautions against malaria and yellow fever, visas, international currency and passports,???t Safaris accept no liability if such requirements have not been correctly arranged by you.

It is also your responsibility to report on time for all transport arrangements and to ensure that you have all travel tickets and documents. We cannot be held responsible for any additional costs if you fail to do so and in the event  passengers are refused entry by any immigration or other authority, all repatriation costs are to be borne by the passenger.

VISA:

In most countries, visitors are able to buy a visa on arrival at the airport or other border crossing. The fee is between 50 – 100 USD, depending on which country you are from. If you have doubts about the visa requirements, you can contact the country’s embassy or we can help you get the information. A visa can only be paid by USD cash.

CURRENCY:

Tanzania uses two currencies, USD and the Tanzanian shilling, but a visitor can bring any amount of foreign currency.  whether in cash or travelers cheque, and it may be exchanged at the commercial banks, authorized dealers, or at the bureau de change operating at the international Airport, major towns and border posts.

 PAYMENT:

Upon confirmation of your trip, a 50% deposit will be needed to pay for the hotels. This payment is done by Telegraphic transfer via your internet banking or via your bank. The  balance can be paid a month before arrival, or by cash or credit card on arrival If paying by credit card, there will be a 6% bank charge added to the balance. The deposit is treated as nonrefundable.  (Do you mean “wire” transfer? This is the common term in many countries.  I also do not understand what you mean by internet banking.)

INSUARANCE

You are strongly advised to take out  insurance against all risks for an adequate sum. Our company does not undertake to provide medical care (except to call in the flying doctors transfer service in Tanzania) and our company does not accept liability for any inadequate care provided.

CLOTHING:

For safaris you can wear khaki or any other colored clothes. On safari you will be in the safety of the vehicle so color is not a big issue. However you should avoid blue and black  because these colors attract Tsetse flies in Tarangire and some areas of Serengeti.

For your Kilimanjaro or Meru climb, you will need hiking boots, thick winter socks, warm long underwear, trousers, T-shirts, sweaters, coat, gloves, hat, sunglasses, walking sticks and a small backpack to carry your lunch and water. You may also bring power bars. All these  items are available for rent, but try to at least bring your own hiking boots as they will be more comfortable.

TIME

Tanzania has only one time zone. Local time is GMT + 3 and Daylight Savings Time is not used
